Wolf Cub Scout: 2nd Grade

The Wolf Handbook begins with the story of Mowgli, and how he became a member of the Wolf Pack. The founder of Boy Scouts, Lord Baden-Powell, used this Rudyard Kipling story as the basis for Cub Scouting. As a Wolf Scout, your son will learn about the Law of the Pack, and what it means to be a Cub Scout.

The Cub Scout follows Akela. The Cub Scout helps the pack go. The pack helps the Cub Scout grow, and the Cub Scout gives goodwill.

A Wolf Cub Scout works on 12 Achievements to earn his Wolf Badge. Each Achievement is designed to teach simple skills, and initiate family discussions on values, drug awareness, health, and much more.

The second part of the handbook includes 23 Electives that can be worked on either simultaneously with the Achievements, or after the Achievements are completed. The Achievements teach life skills, such as keeping fit, learning about the American flag, learning about your community,  and learning how to use tools. The Electives let the Scout expand on the knowledge he is gaining in the Achievements section: sing-alongs, knot-tying, Indian lore, books and reading, acting, growing things, you name it, and it’s there for you to explore!
