The Tiger Cub program is designed for boys in 1st grade to build stronger families through involvement in a simple, low-cost program that is flexible and fun for boys and adults. A shared leadership, where a Den Leader works with teams of boys and their adult partners, gives everyone input to the planning and carrying out of activities. 

There are five Achievements leading to the Tiger Cub badge. These achievements are all designed for a Tiger Cub to enjoy the Scouting program with his family and friends. Achievements are rewarded by earning a Belt Totem, with beads for completing Family and Den activities and Field trips.

The Tiger Cub Motto is “Search, Discover, Share.” The Tiger Cub Den meeting has components built around each word:

Share time means a boy can show or tell about something he did since the last meeting.

During Discover time, teams may work on crafts and games, some active outside games and some quiet inside games.

Search time: A typical Go See It can be a parent’s place of business, community services like the Police and Fire Stations, nature centers, radio and TV stations, any place that is interesting to boys.
