Our History

Troop 110 was founded by the Primitive Methodist Church Men’s Club in 1931.The troop was a member of Susquenango Council until it merged under our current council Baden-Powell. It is now sponsored by the congregation of All Saints Episcopal Church on Main St. in Johnson City near the Route 201 crossover bridge.

Since 1931, the troop has continued to build a tradition of providing a quality scouting program that carries out the aims and ideals of scouting.

Troop 110's Camping Program

A famous Norman Rockwell painting of a Scout Troop heading out for a hike is titled “Scouting Means Outing”, and Troop 110 uses the outdoors as a foundation for its yearly program. Camping is an important part of the program. Troop 110 is known as “The Camping Troop”.

Our monthly camping program includes district and council camporees, backpacking trips, patrol campouts, week long summer trip, and more. Camping and other outdoor events provide the boys an opportunity to develop their skills, build their camaraderie, grow in confidence, and most importantly, have fun.

What Do Our Boys Learn?

The skills, confidence, leadership, and knowledge the boys develop through the scouting program will not only help our boys grow as youth, but carry into their adult lives. While outdoor skills are a big component of what the boys learn, they also learn practical skills such as cooking, family life, physical fitness, public speaking, and much more.

In fact some of our boys' favorite trips have included visits to places like Gettysburg, New York City, and Washington D.C.  Troop 110 strives to combine education with fun.
